As the Founder of SiMPACT Strategy Group and Chair of Social Value Canada (SVC), Stephanie Robertson is a leader of the social value movement. Her work mobilizes individuals and organizations across all sectors to change the way they account for value. Through her leadership, SiMPACT has assessed social investments for some of Canada’s largest companies, all levels of government, and organizations within both the social profit and social enterprise sectors. Meanwhile, the SVC network has grown to include members from government, business, and non-profits, and provides them with unique professional development opportunities. Stephanie also founded LBG Canada in 2005, a network that brings over two dozen companies together to share a common framework for measuring community investments. Its members include RBC, TD, Imperial Oil, and Telus.
Stephanie has been with the social value movement since its beginning. She received her MBA from London Business School in 1999, during which time she met Jed Emerson, the godfather of social value. Afterwards, she spent some time as an adjunct faculty member at LBS, developing a social enterprise course as well as writing three social enterprise case studies. She was also the Chair of SROI Canada for five years before Social Value International was established in 2015. Her deep passion, leadership, and years of experience will ensure the growth of the social value movement across Canada.
