A founding member of the SROI Network and an author of the Guide to SROI, Tim Goodspeed helped grow the concept of social value. He continues to sit on the Social Value Int. Methodology Committee and provides consulting through morethanoutputs.
Tim is a passionate and experienced proponent of Social Value and measuring Purpose. He started his career in economic development and regeneration. morethanoutputs began in 2000 supporting social enterprises in Yorkshire England. This naturally grew in to the developing field of Social Value.
With a background in funding and programme management, Tim understands how Social Value can be used with funders, investors, or to contribute to programs. However, he is passionate that Social Value is also used to help organizations internally understand and maximise the value they create for all stakeholders. His work reflects effective combinations of these sometimes-conflicting objectives.
In the early years of development of SROI in the UK, Tim focused on the development of Social Value accounting to meet business needs. He is a qualified social accountant with experience of the Social Audit Network (SAN) process and was one of the first Accredited SROI Practitioners and Trainers.
Tim was a founder member of the SROI Network, but stood down from the Board in 2008 to take on a contract for the development and delivery of a national and international SROI Practitioner Training for Social Value Int/UK (previously the SROI Network). Tim is one of the authors of the Guide to SROI (originally sponsored by UK Govt Cabinet Office) and is a member of the Social Value Int. Methodology Committee.
